Medically compromised patient happy with her treatment

What are
dental crowns
and bridges?

You may have heard of dental crowns and dental bridges before, but if you’re unsure of how they can improve your teeth, you’re not alone. Crowns and bridges are often seen as cosmetic dentistry treatments, but they can also improve and maintain the functional health of your mouth. If you need to repair a damaged or misshapen tooth, you’ve had a root canal, or need a dental implant, then dental crowns in Plantation, FL are often an ideal solution. Similarly, a dental bridge can replace one or more missing teeth in a row, saving you the trouble and embarrassment of using a removable partial denture. With our precise and efficient digital treatment process, we can often return your smile to a healthy, functional, and attractive state in as few as two appointments!

Fix Your Smile Flaws

See Your Smile with Crowns or Bridges

Your treatment with dental crowns and bridges is generally a two-step process. You’ll first come to our office for a consultation with our dentist, Dr. Anthony Adkins. With artistry and technical skill that only comes from cosmetic dentistry training, Dr. Adkins will design a new smile virtually using our Digital Smile Design software. You’ll be able to see a photo of yourself smiling with a digital representation of your final teeth! This smile preview can be tweaked until you’re satisfied, as these digital designs will aid the ceramists who ultimately create your physical dental crown or dental bridge.

Our Personalized
Cosmetic Makeover

We’ll need to remove portions of enamel from each tooth that will be receiving a dental bridge or crown. Your tooth root and the remainder of your natural tooth will remain strong and healthy. Removing enamel ensures your crown or bridge fits in your mouth and next to existing teeth without appearing unnatural or bulky. Next, we’ll take digital impressions of your teeth using our Planmeca Emerald™ intraoral scanner, eliminating the need for messy goop impressions.

We’ll send these highly accurate impressions and your virtual smile design to our partner dental lab. You’ll wear temporaries while your final restorations are being made, a process that takes about two weeks. When you return to our office, we’ll have your final dental bridge or dental crowns ready! We’ll ensure their fit, then bond them securely to your natural teeth. You now have a beautiful, functional, and complete smile once again!
